The spring festival one of the most important days in Chinese culture. It can be called Chinese new year celebrated the first day of the lunar calendar. The celebrations traditionally run from the evening before the first day to the 15th day of the first calendar month. Even though it is a Chinese traditional festival, people from Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and many Asian countries are celebrating.

During this time, people from different parts of China have various customs. For examples: In North part of China, people will have homemade dumpling together and do the firework. In southern China, all family members are sitting together to have a nice dinner with rice. But the standard things that all Chinese would like to do are watching Spring Festival Gala(春晚) and playing firecracker(鞭炮).
