Nowadays, many parents send their children to various classes in the children’s spare time. These classes can be classified into two categories. First, on school subject, their intention is to reinforce and enrich the children’s knowledge acquired in school by means of more clarification and exercises. Second, classes to cultivate children’s interest, such as classes in English, dancing, etc.

Children’s attending classes in their spare time has become a controversial issue. I think children should have the right to enjoy their childhood, and to play. 跟我一起发愁的爸爸突然惊叫：“咦！怎么把这个大罗忘了。走，带你去拜访老外。”在我们家楼上住着一个叫大罗的英国人。平时最不喜欢与人交流的我，今天为了学习，无可奈何地被爸爸强拖上门求学了。

“吱！”的一声，门应声而开，一张光滑白净的脸庞映入眼帘，“Hello！”他热情地与我打着招呼。“Hello！”我鹦鹉学舌也稀里糊涂地和他打招呼。

“你有什么事？小朋友。”呀，我大吃一惊，没想到大罗会说中文。

“我可以跟你学英文吗？”我小心翼翼地问。

大罗教书真幽默，比如“P”，他说这和“屁”的读音一样；“I”和“爱”的读音一模一样的。我听得乐得哈哈大笑。在笑声中，我轻而易举地掌握了26个字母。

谐音单词

开始学单词了，单词是把26个字母打乱的词组，我又开始皱眉毛了。大罗说：“不要怕，单词也是有中文谐音的。”

“Icecream（冰淇淋）——爱死我，可冷——冰淇淋虽然冷，可是我的最爱。”

“umbrella（雨伞）——俺不来了——下雨了，俺不来了。”

我认为这样学习单词又好玩又好记，可是有些英语老师却提出反对意见，说这样记忆英语会带来什么什么的不良后果。这种话也传进大罗的耳朵，他心事重重，怀疑教给我的英语单词，一会儿会不会上个厕所就冲进马桶里呢？结果多次测试我都考100分！

我发现一个秘密：大罗在教我英语时，也在向我学中文！难怪电视里常听到“洋鬼子”一说，这个外国人真是鬼，不吃亏。不过他的学习态度不得不令我敬佩，不懂就问，一丝不苟的，进步飞快，我被感动了。

终于有一天，我向大罗发誓：我要把英语学好，将来与他齐肩。大罗听后高兴得像个孩子。

他说：学英语虽然要迈一个巨大的坑，可是我们在学习中做到勤学好问，精益求精，寻找窍门。一定会成功的。

这个老外不简单！他用实际行动告诉了我，没有加倍的的学习，或者是死板的学习，就没有才能，也没有天才。
